Since my business is all about travel, I am going to elaborate on my blog post that lists tips for packing for your trip. I am going to go through a step-by-step set of instructions on how to prepare, as well as pack, for you desired destination.
This is a perfect time for me to be doing this step-by-stpe because I am currently packing for one f my own desired destinations. This week I am heading to the wonderful city of Las Vegas, Nevada (or what is also known as Sin City) This is a trip I have been wanting to take for a long time and I finally have the time to do so. I am only going for 4 days though because I have heard it gets to be a little pricy if you spend any longer there.
So before I started to get excited for the trip. The first step is to book your flight and hotel. You want to take a couple of days to search for a flight, as well as a hotel, because the prices do indeed fluctuate depending on the day of the week, time of the year, and even the time of the day. It is important to write down or save the cheap flights you see so you can compare them from different websites and travel agents. After finding the flight you desire, you should now begin looking for hotels. Some airports have free shuttles that will transport you to your hotel for free or for a low cost that might even be cheaper than a cab. So you might want to consider those into your options of hotels. And even some hotels come with a free shuttle service, which is the best option, to me. You can search hotels pretty much anywhere, but where I find the best ones are when you look at the comments from the people who have actually stayed at that specific hotel and know the ins and outs to it. Sometimes hotels show pictures and list descriptions that do not completely describe what the hotel or actual room is like. They try to sell you on something that could be false or partially different than how it is described. Amenities are something else you should consider when looking for hotel rooms. Things such as, Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, swimming pool, hot tub, and fitness area should be considered based on your preference. The more of these things that the hotel offers, the more expensive it will likely be.
After finding your hotel, it might be a good idea to start researching things to do while you are there. For many top vacations spots there are going to be hundreds of things to do you will not even have time to get to them all. But it would be smart to pick out some of your top interests and search those so you can make an agenda for yourself. I would add two or three for each day you are there, just in case you have some for back up if something goes wrong with your first choice.
As mentioned in my list post, one of the first things I would do to begin packing is to write down your daily steps for getting ready in the morning. You might not even think of something like using a Q-tip after the shower, so therefore you might not remember to pack them. But if you write this down, you will be sure to pack everything you need. Of course, if you do forget some of these toiletries, most hotels have extras that you can ask for from the front desk or the maids. Write down every product you use so that you can make sure to put liquids in separate containers that you are allowed to bring on the plane.
That takes me to my next step: flight precautions. Make sure to check the guidelines for the items that you are allowed to bring on the plane-- in your suitcase and/or carryon. It would also me smart to check the height and weight of your luggage as well as your carry on for the plane. Trust me, you do not want to be that individual that brought too much stuff and has to open up their suitcase in the airport to remove items that will make it weigh less. How embarrassing! (If you did not get that, I was talking from experience) This will cause you to delay your time going through security and it might hold up the line and cause other customers to yell at you.
Before packing your clothes, make sure to check the weather for the time that you are going to be there. If it is too early to check, then the best thing to do would be to look at the normal temperatures for the time that you are going to be there. Be sure not to just pack for this weather though. You should always be prepared for any type that may be sensible. Weather such as rain and snow could happen at any moment in some places. A lot of the time it could be warm in some places during the day but the temperatures may drop at night time. This means that you could bring shorts, tank tops and dresses for the day, but make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a jacket for when it gets cold at night. Shoes are another aspect of this rule. You may wear flip flops and sandals throughout the day but it could get cold at night, so make sure to pack something that is going to cover your whole foot so your toes do not get too cold. Tennis shoes are always something that you should pack, no matter where you are heading. You make have to walk a while and the 4 inch heels you packed are not going to be very comfortable to walk around in all day and night. A tip that I have used every time I go on trips is to stuff your shoes with socks and small shirts, or anything that can fit. This will save you so much room in your suitcase for other items, if needed.
After all of these steps, you should double and triple check to make sure you have everything and your flight is on time. Be sure to arrive at the airport very early. You never ever want to miss your flight for any reason because you will lose all that money and time spent on this vacation!
The very last step I have is to enjoy your time in your desired destination! You will create memories that will last a lifetime. Make sure to take plenty of pictures and grab some souvenirs to remember your wonderful time.
